Face Aesthetic

A full surgical facelift can address multiple signs of facial ageing. This procedure effectively tightens sagging skin around the jawline and neck, reducing the appearance of jowls. It also smooths deep wrinkles and folds, particularly around the mouth and cheeks. Additionally, a facelift can restore lost volume in the mid-face area, creating a more youthful contour. By repositioning underlying tissues and removing excess skin, a full surgical facelift offers a comprehensive solution for patients seeking significant, long-lasting facial rejuvenation.

What are the different factors of a full surgical facelift?

A full facelift is performed under general anaesthetic. Jonathan will focus on tightening or lifting your SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System), using either plication or deep plane techniques. This is to rejuvenate your facial contours. Pre- or post-operatively, you may undergo BBL and Halo laser treatments to enhance your skin texture and tone, which is not addressed by the surgery itself. Lymphatic drainage massage will also be recommended to reduce swelling and promote healing.

Jonathan will recommend you keep the area dry for 48 hours and at that point it can be wet in the shower. It is important to avoid heavy lifting or exercise for at least one week as it may lead to bleeding or delayed wound healing, and a poorer outcome.

Moisturising and massaging are the mainstay of post-operative scar management, while laser and micro-needling can speed up the scar maturation process. It is also crucial to protect the treated area from sun exposure. In case of any signs of infection it is important to seek immediate medical attention.
