Dermal fillers

Face Aesthetic

Dermal filler treatment is a method of facial contouring that can treat a variety of areas. When our skin naturally loses elasticity and starts to sag, often resulting in a hollow and tired appearance, dermal fillers can be used subtly to restore lost volume such as the cheeks, under-eye hollows, and lips. This will give the face a more youthful and rejuvenated look. Additionally, dermal fillers can also smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, minimising their appearance and creating a smoother complexion.

What happens during dermal fillers treatment?

During treatment, Jonathan will inject the dermal fillers into specific areas of your face to add volume, shape and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The procedure is usually quick and relatively painless. It’s the assessment of your facial anatomy and where to place the fillers during the consultation that takes time, precision and expertise. After the treatment, you should notice early results.

Faqs | Dermal fillers

  • Dermal fillers help restore volume to the face. They are commonly used to address fat deficiency, or areas where fat pads have migrated due to ageing. As we age, our skin loses elasticity and the underlying fat pads may shift or diminish, leading to a hollowed or sagging appearance. Dermal fillers can restore that volume and, in doing so, create a more youthful facial contour.

  • Dermal filler treatment is suitable for individuals who are looking to subtly enhance their appearance and address contour changes and fine lines. They can also be used to add volume to the lips, cheeks and other areas of the face.

  • Jonathan will perform a meticulous facial assessment in the first instance. This is done to determine the areas that need treatment and to create a personalised plan for your specific needs. He will carefully examine your face, looking at factors such as skin texture, volume loss, and wrinkles, as well as taking into consideration your desired outcome and any concerns or preferences you may have.

  • Most patients report experiencing only minimal discomfort during the procedure. And to minimise that, a topical numbing cream can be applied before the treatment.

  • The procedure itself can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

  • The treated area should have an improved contour and be smoother and more youthful as dermal filler can effectively reduce the appearance of wrinkles, enhance facial contours, and restore lost volume.

  • There is a risk of redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site following a dermal fillers treatment, but this should subside quickly over the next couple of days. There is a rare risk of injecting into a blood vessel causing a wound or vision issues.
